Approach to Paper one
5 minutes reading time
- read the text
- consider the text type
- consider the purpose
- consider the big idea
- consider the tone
- consider the audience
Beginning of writing time
- write the above
- write the menu
- begin your annotations (5-10 min)
While writing
- write the introduction last
- write the most important things first
- for each element you discuss,(ie. visual rhetoric) list all of the devices, but only discuss the most important
- be sure to discuss syntax and diction
- discuss the audience in detail (can be in final paragraph or conclusion)
Finalising
- give yourself the last ten minutes to write your conclusion, introduction and edit
- discuss what will be discussed including specifics in your introduction
- revisit key ideas and audience in your conclusion
